Introduction
We want purchasing a gecko from Mist Mount Phants to be a positive experience and will do everything in our power to make the transaction go smoothly. Please read the terms and conditions before purchasing as they are our agreement with you as to how the purchase and shipping will be handled.
Shipping
We will only ship Tuesdays or Wednesdays with overnight shipping to a FedEX hub.
The leaf-tailed geckos are a sensitive species and we need to ensure that the shipping process is as safe as possible. Mondays often have a shipping backlog from the weekend and if there are any delays in shipping we do not want it to be close to the weekend which could add days to the delay. Shipping on Tuesday or Wednesday avoids the weekend complications. Other arrangements can be made on a case by case basis upon agreement between both parties.
The riskiest part of this journey is the trip from the FedEX hub to a final address. As U. Phantasticus is sensitive to heat we want to cut this part of the journey out. We will help you find the nearest FedEX hub.
Live Arrival Guarantee and Conditions
Live arrival is guaranteed with the package being picked up from the FedEX hub within two hours of its arrival. We understand that this can be a challenge to schedule. But the longer the gecko is in someone else’s hands the more risk is brought on.
The gecko is secure inside its travel container so open the box before leaving the FedEX hub and check on the condition.
If there is a death then contact us immediately at mistymountainphants@gmail.com. This must be within two hours of the package’s arrival to the FedEX hub. We require video evidence of the deceased to be included in the email.
Medical Issues
Issues with shipping are very rare. FedEX has figured out how to do this and we have figured out how to make it better (ie. Shipping Tuesdays/Wednesdays and hub pick-up). When you pick up the gecko from the FedEX hub, open the box and check on the condition of the gecko before leaving the hub. In the case where there is a situation where health is in question contact us immediately. We will need pictures and a full description. Next steps will be a case by case basis depending on what happened. The critical step is to immediately contact us, let us know what is going on, and we will give you directions from there. If you go to the veterinarian without authorization from Misty Mountain Phants then you are fully responsible for the bills incurred regardless of the reason for the medical condition. Talk to us first.
Save all packing material in the case where shipping the gecko back to us is decided. It is difficult to cover all things that could happen – especially since problems are so rare. But that is no consolation if it happens in your case. We want you to be happy with your gecko and will work on a solution. Contact us with anything you see and let’s figure out a solution together.
Cancellation & Refunds
Orders may be cancelled before the gecko is shipped minus 5% of the purchase. This is for payment processing fees. If the gecko is held for longer than a week for a reason other than weather or shipping problems then 25% of the payment will be a non-refundable deposit which will not be refunded regardless of which party cancels the order.
We strive to get your gecko to you as soon as possible and as safely as possible. This often means adjusting for delays due to inclement weather. This is normal. And we will work with you to find the best day for you to receive the gecko. If shipping delays, outside of weather, go beyond two weeks then it becomes a hold situation.
Refunds will be made to the original form of payment.
The Hold Situation
We can also hold your gecko for a future shipment, but this becomes a separate arrangement to be worked out on a case by case basis. If we are holding the gecko for you then 25% of the cost will become a nonrefundable deposit. If you end up cancelling the order or if we end up cancelling the order the deposit is non-refundable. We will not cancel the order unless we deem it to be abandoned.
